Destroyer of Real Estate Orthodoxy

 Destroyer of Real Estate Orthodoxy

You might be thinking that the headline ‘The Destroyer of Real Estate Orthodoxy’ is some preface to a hit piece about this Michigan based real estate professional.

You couldn’t be more wrong.

Meet Chris Hubel

Chris Hubel is a real estate agent in Michigan and one you might be familiar with.  Recently one of his listings in Pontiac, Michigan went viral for being the “World’s Cheapest Home”.  This house was listed at $1.

By listing a home at such a low price, Chris ensured that a home that would typically get overlooked would get maximum visibility.  People were curious, they clicked, they shared, and the listing went viral. This not only brought attention to the property but also showcased Chris’s out-of-the-box thinking.

Moreover, the strategy also opened up a dialogue about the value of the home, the real estate market in Pontiac, and the broader implications of housing affordability.

Chris used this as an opportunity beyond just a single sale.  In Michigan, there are only a few really great marketers who understand the following:

The modern agent understands that attention is just as valuable – if not more so – than the commission check.

Today that listing has over 100,000 views on Zillow alone, inspiring Chris to launch Homesforadollar.com. With that amount of attention, just imagine how much business he’ll be able to generate.

At First Glance

We have all seen the power-pose photos of people within the real estate industry.  Arms crossed, finger-tip touch, hands on hips, and that’s just the real estate agent starter-pack when it comes to photos.

Real estate agents want to convey themselves as powerful as attorneys (no offense to attorneys).  This contemporary arrogance comes from the boastfulness of saying you have sold “Millions of Dollars” in real estate.

Yet when you meet Chris, he is certainly not that.  You’ll probably first notice gauges in his ears, tattoos from arm to leg, sneakers, and maybe a few rips in his jeans.

He’s the antithesis of the traditional real estate agent image.

Chris Hubel, the ‘Destroyer of Real Estate Orthodoxy,’ is a title well-earned.

He’s shown that you don’t need to fit into a mold to be successful in the real estate world. By being authentic, thinking differently, and putting his clients first, Chris has not only carved a niche for himself but has also inspired many others to think outside the box.

In a world where following the crowd is the easier path, Chris Hubel stands out, reminding us all that sometimes, breaking the mold is the way to truly make … $1.
